John David & Mary Benton Friend, owner of BDF Monuments, presented a check for $714.50 to LC Relay for Life (American Cancer Society). This donation was given in honor of those who purchased their monuments from BDF Monuments January 1st - Memorial Day. A portion of the granite sales was set aside for the donation.

MADISON CAUDILL BEGINS EMBALMING & FUNERAL DIRECTOR APPRENTICESHIP
On April 7th, Madison Caudill was hired as a new, full-time employee of the funeral homes. In March 2017, Madison graduated from Mid-American Funeral College. On Friday, January 13, 2017, John David Friend was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellows Award from Lions Club International-the highest honor a Lions club member can obtain. John David was nominated by the Stanford Lions Club for the committed service he has given the local club and local community. On Wednesday, August 24, 2016, Mary Benton Friend passed her National Board Exams for embalming. She is now a Licensed Embalmer. She will go before the Kentucky Board of Embalmers & Funeral Directors, in December, to become licensed in the state of Kentucky.

January 23, 2013 - Barnett, Demrow and Fox Funeral Homes presenting a $1,000 grant to the Wilderness Trace Child Development Center in Danville. The center serves children in Lincoln and Boyle Counties. The grant is sponsored by The York Children's Foundation from Matthews International Casket Division. The funeral homes nominated the center for the grant in October 2012.
