Edith Gooch Luttrell, age 84, of Kings Mountain, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, Kentucky. Born Friday, December 15, 1939, in Casey County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Elmer & Alma Pullum Gooch. Edith was the widow of the late Harold Luttrell, whom she married Monday, May 12, 1958, and preceded her in death Thursday, May 16, 2002. Edith was a homemaker, life-long farmer, member of Locust Grove Baptist Church, where she was saved when she was 17 years of age, and loved canning.
Edith leaves behind one daughter, Cissy Patterson (Ronnie) of Kings Mountain; two sons, James Arnold Luttrell (Jeannette) of Kings Mountain and Jeff Luttrell of Middleburg, Kentucky; 12 grandchildren, Beanie Patterson (Danielle), Justin Patterson (Leanne), Amanda Luttrell, Kayla Luttrell (Matt), Amy Bell, Brad Luttrell (Paige), Kimberly Luttrell (Brian), Stephanie Pendleton (Waylon), Jeremy Luttrell, Jessica Murell (Brad), Jordan Luttrell, and Garrett Carrier; 24 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Adolphus Gooch (Sue) of Kings Mountain, Clifton “Shorty” Gooch of Hustonville, Kentucky, and James Gooch (Joannie) of Kings Mountain; two sisters, Mary Cornett of Sydney, Ohio, and Shirley Gooch of Tennessee; and several other extended family members and friends who mourn her passing.
In addition to her husband and parents, Edith was preceded in death by one son, Leroy “Buck” Luttrell”; and two brothers, John Gooch and Arnold “Goat” Gooch.
A Public Visitation will be held 1-3PM Monday, February 19, 2024, at Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home.
A Public Funeral Service will be held 3:00PM Monday, at the funeral home. Bro. Keith Bowling will officiate the service. The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Edith’s memorial page of the funeral home’s website.
Burial will follow in K.P. Hall Cemetery. Edith’s grandsons will serve as Active Pallbearers. Terry Cornett, Jared Murell, Landon Meade, Rylan Smith, and Camden Smith will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
