Martha Ellen (Lucas) Dennis

Martha Ellen Dennis, age 84, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away Monday, April 11, 2022, at Stanford Care & Rehabilitation.  Born Thursday, November 24, 1937, in the South Fork Community of Lincoln County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Willie Grant & Myrtle Lake Carter Lucas.  Martha was the widow of the late Bennie Ray Dennis, who preceded her in death Monday, November 7, 2005.  Martha was a member of South Fork Baptist Church and a member of Green River Homemakers. Martha worked, for over 25 years, in Housekeeping at Stanford House Nursing Home.  She loved to walk.

Martha leaves behind one son, David Lynn Dennis of Stanford; A special friend that she thought of as a son, Chris Crowley (Bill) of Cincinnati, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews and other extended family members and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Jimmie R. Lucas, Ress Lucas, Odi Lucas, and Elmer B. Lucas; and five sisters, Jean Derry, Ruby Knippenburg, Ruth Gooch, Marcella Wilcher, and Barbara Gardner. 

A Public Visitation will be held 5-8PM Monday, April 18, 2022, at Fox & Friend Funeral Home.

The Public Funeral Service will be held 11:00AM Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at the funeral home.  Bro. Kevin Jones & Bro. Curtis Brock will be officiating the service. Burial will follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
