Lola Hubbard Obituary

Lola Hubbard, age 95, of Kings Mountain, Kentucky, passed away Friday, May 29, 2020 at Danville Care Health & Rehab in Danville, Kentucky.  Born Tuesday, July 29, 1924 in Kings Mountain, she was the daughter of the late James Harvey & Laura B. Floyd Jenkins.  Lola was the widow of the late Charles “Hub” Hubbard, who preceded her in death Sunday, May 25, 2008.  Lola was a faithful member of Pleasant Point Baptist Church for 86 years, having been saved at the age of nine in 1933.  At the church, she was a Sunday School teacher and played the piano for many years.  Lola worked at an airplane parts factory in Cincinnati, Ohio, during WWII to help the war efforts.  After that position, Lola worked at Palm Beach for 35 years.  After retiring from that position, she worked at Wal-Mart for 10 years.  Lola enjoyed cooking for her family, reading, and doing embroidery work in her spare time.

 

Lola leaves behind two sons, William Robert Hubbard (Jane) and Lanny Roy Hubbard (Sandy) both of Waynesburg, Kentucky; two daughters, Deanna Floyd (Jimmy) of Yosemite, Kentucky, and Rita Hazlett (Johnny) of Nashville, Tennessee; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two great-great grandchildren expected soon; one brother, James Jenkins (Joy) of Florida; one sister, Leona Dunham of Kings Mountain; and several other extended family members and friends who mourn her passing. 

In addition to her husband and parents, Lola was preceded in death by one son, Charles Duane Hubbard; one grandson, Robbie Hubbard; five brothers, John A. Jenkins, William Jenkins, Orville Jenkins, Estel Jenkins, and Ralph Jenkins; and two sisters, Julia Caldwell and Ruth Wall. 

A Private Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Pleasant Point Baptist Church.  Bro. Bill Rhodus & Bro. Tim Jones will officiate the service.  Burial will be in Pleasant Point Cemetery.  Lola’s grandsons:  Brian Hubbard, Martin Young, Craig Hubbard, Michael Hubbard, David Hazlett, and Tyler Hubbard will serve as Active Pallbearers.  Lola’s granddaughters will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. 

A Public Visitation will be held 5-8PM Monday, June 1, 2020 at the church.

Due to current regulations, social distancing guidelines will be followed for the public visitation and the private funeral service.
