Evelyn Hamilton Hill, age 99, of Waynesburg, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, at just two months shy of her 100th birthday. Born Thursday, June 6, 1918 in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Ambrose and Alice Lee Emerson Hamilton. She was the widow of the late Otis Hill, who preceded her in death in January 1981. Evelyn was a former factory worker, and was a member of Mt. Olive Christian Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, loved to cook, and adored her family.
Evelyn leaves behind one daughter, Effie Combs Pendleton of Waynesburg; one brother, Eugene Hamilton of Crittenden, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Thomas Pendleton (Kim) of Willisburg, Kentucky, and Robert Pendleton of Miami Beach, Florida; three great grandchildren, Heather Curtsinger (Michael) of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, Daniel Pendleton of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, and Amber Pendleton (Shawn) of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky; and two great-great grandchildren, Reece Sappenfield of Lawrenceburg, and Dylan Curtsinger of Lawrenceburg.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Lawrence “Buster” Hamilton, Lewis Hamilton, Earl Hamilton, Edward “Shorty” Hamilton, and Harold Hamilton; and two sisters, Loanna Denny, and Lucille Wilson.
A Funeral Service will be held 11:00Am Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home with Bro. David Gambrel officiating the service. Burial will follow in Salyers Cemetery in Casey County. Tom Pendleton, Daniel Pendleton, Michael Curtsinger, Shawn Barnes, Steve Hamilton, and Larry Luttrell will serve as Active Pallbearers.
The Visitation will be held 5-8PM Monday, March 19, 2018 at the funeral home.
