Billie Sue Davis Cornelius

Billie Sue Davis Cornelius, age 93, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Stanford Care & Rehabilitation.  Born Monday, August 29, 1927 in Candler, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Glenn Reeves & Frances Ketner Davis.  Billie Sue was the widow of the late Russell Fred Cornelius, who preceded her in death Friday, August 22, 1980.  Billie Sue worked for the Lincoln County Office of Health & Family Services, where she was Branch Manager, for many years.  She was a member of Stanford Baptist Church, where she previously taught Sunday School and was an active member of the church choir.  In her spare time, she enjoyed square dancing.

Billie Sue leaves behind two sons, David Cornelius (Jessica McGuffey) of Stanford, and Jim Cornelius (Nikole) of Orlando, Florida; two grandchildren, Carrie Cornelius Barnard (Jonathan) and Chris Cornelius (Dana) both of Danville, Kentucky; and six great-grandchildren, Cruise Wilson, Merrik Cornelius, Maverick Cornelius, Paxton Barnard, Pierson Barnard, and Addison-Paige Barnard.

In addition to her husband and parents, Billie Sue was preceded in death by one brother, Glenn Reeves Davis, Jr.

A Private Graveside Service & Burial will take place Friday, February 5, 2021 at Buffalo Springs Cemetery.  Bro. Vola Brown will officiate the service. Dan Barnett, David Downey, Paul Long, Scott Ferguson, Ronnie Hester, and Charlie Hester will serve as Active Pallbearers.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, face coverings will be required by anyone attending the Private Graveside Service; and social distancing guidelines must be followed.
