Alice Lewis, 78, of Stanford, KY passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. Born Sunday, July 4, 1943, in Cumberland (Harlan County), Kentucky to the late James Robert Clark and Leona Reed Clark, she was a homemaker for most of her life, enjoyed singing in church, and was an avid photographer who enjoyed taking pictures of her family. Mrs. Lewis was President of Green River Homemakers Club and was a member of Mt. Moriah Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Raymond Dudley Lewis of Stanford, KY; two sons, Roger Lewis (Karen) of Corinth, KY and Danny Lewis (Bethany) of Richmond, KY; and two grandchildren, Thomas Lewis and Scottie Lewis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Carla Rae Lewis; and one sister, Brenda Carpenter.
A public visitation has been scheduled for Friday, June 17, 2022, from 5-8pm at Mt. Moriah Christian Church.
A public funeral service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at the church with Bro. Bill Gooch officiating. The funeral service will be livestreamed on Alice’s tribute page at www.friendfuneralhomes.com.
Mrs. Lewis will be laid to rest at Buffalo Springs Cemetery following the funeral service. Pallbearers for the service are Jason Hoskins, Christopher Reed, Tony Carpenter, Paul Carpenter, Shannon Carpenter, and Thomas Lewis.
