Norma Jean Middleton Tarter

Norma Jean Middleton Tarter, age 76, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford. Born Saturday, August 15, 1942 in Garrard County, she was the daughter of the late George Andrew and Ona Mae Hiter Middleton. Jean retired from Square D, was a member of Salt River Baptist Church in Boyle County, Kentucky, and attended Grace Fellowship Church in Stanford.  Jean enjoyed quilting, going to flea markets, auctions and yard sales.

Jean leaves behind two sons, Michael Tarter (Linda) of Harrodsburg, Kentucky, and Joey Tarter of Stanford; one daughter, Marquetta Sue Tarter of Stanford; four grandchildren, Cynthia Ann Tarter, Christopher Dakota Tarter, Trevor Ty’ Jordan Tarter (Sara Holt), and Tre’ Braxston Johnson, all of Stanford;  two great grandchildren, Ty’ Jordan Trevor Tarter and Gracie Mae Tarter, both of Stanford; one brother, Michael Dale Middleton of Perryville, Kentucky; one sister, Rosa L. Middleton Davis of Lexington, Kentucky; and a special friend, Lucille Justice of Waynesburg, Kentucky.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by one daughter, Ona Mae “Missy” Tarter; three brothers, Raymond A. Middleton, George D. Middleton, and Donald Ray Middleton; and one sister, Jennie Marie Middleton.

A Funeral Service will be held 11:00AM Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Fox & Friend Funeral Home with Bro. Vola Brown, Rev. Dennis Miller, and Dr. Harold Best officiating the service. Burial will follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Michael Brandon Middleton, Eddie Middleton, Robert Johnson, Derek Bottoms, Glenn Davis, Gregory Hume and Kevin S. Smock will serve as Active Pallbearers. Jean’s grandchildren, great grandchildren and Lucille Justice will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

The Visitation will be held 5-8PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
