Billy Ray Taylor

Billy Ray Taylor, age 68, of Lancaster, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2019 at UK Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.  He was born on Thursday, August 16, 1951 in the Shopville community of Pulaski County, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Clodia and Alta Harris Taylor.  His loving wife is Carol Sue Warren Taylor, whom he married on May 12, 2001.  Billy was retired from Ferrellgas after 37 years.  Billy enjoyed camping, fishing and UK basketball.  Billy was an avid sports fan and also enjoyed playing and coaching softball.  He also enjoyed spending time with his special K-9 companions, Brody and Marley.  His most prized possessions were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who he loved dearly.

In addition to his wife, Billy leaves behind 5 daughters, Jeanna Taylor of McKinney, Stephanie Taylor (Jimmy) of Mt. Salem, Tiffany Criswell (Jaye) of Hurricane, West Virginia, Traci Jackson (Ashley) of Prichard, West Virginia and Tara Whittington (Jeremy) of Falling Waters, West Virginia; 12 grandchildren, Dalton Black (Caitlin), Harley Shackelford, Desmarae Shackelford, Destiny Shackelford, Cheyeanna Tinsley (Chase), Chelsea Tinsley (Josh), Triston Criswell, Ariel Criswell, Shelby Anne Jackson, Carley Jackson, Jase Whittington and Braxton Whittington; three great-grandchildren, Brent Walker Tillett, Elsie Rae Black and Amelia Jane Overstreet; 3 brothers, RC Taylor (Connie) of Stanford, Jackie Taylor and Jimmy Taylor both of Stanford; 5 sisters, Wanda Napier (Paul) of Stanford, Gracie Gilbert of Crab Orchard, Joyce Martin of Stanford, Patsy Zumwalt (Dennis) of Hines City, Florida and Linda Lanham (Gary) of Stanford; and several special nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Taylor; and one special sister, Sheila Taylor.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Fox & Friend Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Yocum officiating the service.  Burial will follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.  Serving as active Pallbearers are Dalton Black, Mike Thompson, Greg Smith, Marlon Tinsley, Ashley Jackson, Jeremy Whittington, Jimmy Tillett and Chase Overstreet.  Honorary Pallbearers will include Ed Jenkins, Tommy Warren, Josh Tillett, Harley Shackelford, Ricky Carter, Jaye Criswell and Mike Voris.

A Visitation will be held from 5PM-9PM on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at the Funeral Home.
