Betty Jo Singleton

Betty Jo Singleton, age 83, of Stanford, Kentucky, formerly of Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2019. Born Saturday, September 12, 1936 in Stanford, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Serena Young Dye. Betty Jo was the widow of the late Ivan Singleton, whom she married June 6, 1959 and preceded her in death October 26, 1992. Betty Jo was a member of Highland United Methodist Church and was an Elementary School teacher. Betty Jo played the piano at Highland Methodist since she was 9 years old. She loved UK Basketball and never missed watching a game. Her granddaughter was her life. Betty Jo inspired many of her students throughout her 40 years of teaching and treated every one of her students fairly.  

Betty Jo leaves behind one son, Jeff Singleton (Bridget) of Stanford; one granddaughter, Kelsey Singleton (Dustin Burchfield) of Stanford; one nephew, Bill Dye; and several other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Betty Jo was preceded in death by one brother, James Dye.

A Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Fox & Friend Funeral Home with Mike McLean officiating the service. Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery. Bill Dye, Gary Singleton, Ronnie McGuffey, Dustin Burchfield, Dexter Wall and Willie Hoskins will serve as Active Pallbearers. Kelsey Singleton, Heloise Reed, Brenda Foster, Charlotte Montgomery, Mayme Lou Cordier, Nancy McGuffey and Highland Elementary Teachers and Staff will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

The Visitation will be held 5:30-8:30PM Monday, October 14, 2019 at the funeral home.
