Wilma Helm Brown, daughter of the late James & Lucy Helm, was born Friday, August 7, 1936, in Stanford, Kentucky. She completed her earthly journey on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, in Stanford. Wilma previously worked, as a cook, for Little World Daycare in Stanford and as a house keeper for Ms. Jean Morgan. William Ellis “Bill” Brown & Wilma Helm were united in marriage for 52 glorious years. Wilma was a member of Bethel AME Church in Boneyville. Wilma was a University of Kentucky fan, enjoyed antiquing, and loved cheesecake and Penn’s Country Ham.
Wilma leaves to cherish her memory: one son, James Ellis Brown of Stanford; and several other extended family members and friends who mourn her passing.
Family members who had gone on before her include: her loving husband, William “Bill” Ellis Brown; her parents, James & Lucy Helm; and one sister, Mary “Lennie” Brown.
A Public Memorial Graveside Service will be held 11:00AM Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at Barrows Cemetery. Rev. Reginald Pullums will officiate the service.
Wilma’s nieces and nephews will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
The family would like to thank Stanford Care & Rehabilitation, Heritage Hospice, Lifeline, and any others for their good care of Wilma for the past several years until her home going. The family would also like to thank Clarence & Sue Gooch for their dedicated love and friendship throughout the many years.
