Wilma Faye “Sister” Sims, age 90, of Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, in Liberty, Kentucky. Faye was born Saturday, March 31, 1934, in Lincoln County, Kentucky, to the late Bourbon & Alta Foley Robertson. On Saturday, February 23, 1952, Faye married the love of her life, Kenneth E. Sims. Together, they shared 65 glorious years, before his passing on Friday, October 13, 2017. Kenneth and Faye owned Robertson-Texaco Station for many years. During their time as owners, they were well-known for giving bubble gum to children who visited the station. Faye was a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church. She loved her dog Shiloh, and enjoyed crocheting, doll collecting, and attending NASCAR races. Faye was a wonderful cook, who fed many people over the years. In fact, she was known for making “the best banana pudding in the world”.
Faye leaves behind her loving “Sister”, Vicki Robertson Johnson (Garland) of Waynesburg; and numerous other extended family members and friends who mourn her passing.
A Public Visitation will be held 11AM-2PM Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home.
A Public Funeral Service will be held 2:00PM Saturday, at the funeral home. Bro. Tim Jones will officiate the service.
Burial will follow in K.P. Hall Cemetery. Terry Graham, Randy Rayburn, Conley Sims, Jackson Sims, Mike Bustle, Jimmy Johnson, and Mack Johnson will serve as Active Pallbearers. Debbie Bustle, Angie Rayburn, Carol Peek Bastin, Garland Johnson, Jimmie Sims, Dwight Wahl, Ron Robertson, and Larry Fight will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
