William Don Stephens Obituary

William Don Stephens, age 66, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital.  Born Friday, May 28, 1954 in Harriman, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Jimmy Stephens & Rebecca June “Becky” Davidson Brickey.  His loving wife, whom he married Friday, July 28, 1978, is Margaret Trailor Stephens of Stanford.  Don retired as a signalman maintainer from Norfolk Southern Railroad.  In previous years, Don was very active in the Lincoln County Quarterback Club and was active in the Lions Club.  In his spare time, Don loved to fish, go to casino boats, and make sure his lawn was well-maintained.  In the past few years, Don dedicated his life to taking great care of his wife, following her recent illness.

In addition to his wife, Don leaves behind one son, Lawrence Douglas Stephens (Tyra) of Stanford; two step-sons, Jason Scott Bird (Jessica) of Stanford, and Michael David Bird (Angie) of Lancaster, Kentucky; 13 grandchildren, Collin, Annabelle, Seanna, Leia, Jordan (Devin), Izabella, Taylor, Micah, Joey, Lynni, Brogan, and Huston; one great-grandchild, River; one brother Dan Ray Stephens of Somerset, Kentucky; one sister, Gina Marie Brickey Leigh (Donnie) of Stanford; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members and friends who mourn his passing. 

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his dad, Cecil Douglas Brickey.

A Public Visitation will be held 12PM-1:30PM Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Fox & Friend Funeral Home.

A Private Funeral Service will be Sunday, at the funeral home, with Bro. Dexter East officiating the service.  The Private Funeral Service will be live streamed on Fox & Friend Funeral Home’s Facebook page beginning at 2:00PM Sunday.

A Graveside Committal & Burial will take place at approximately 3:30PM Sunday in Hustonville Cemetery.  Devin Burchfield, Collin Miracle, Nick Edwards, Jason Scott Bird, Brogan Bird, Huston Bird, Micah Bird, and Loral Richardson will serve as Active Pallbearers.  Jimbo Adams, Carl Turner, Jimmy “Mud Turtle” Hazlett, Lawrence Trailor, Edgar “Rouse” Reed, Buddy Davidson, George Davidson, Buford Edwards, and Kinney Noe will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

Memorial Contributions suggested to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
