Vida Fay "Mama Neal" Neal

Vida Fay Neal, age 92, of Stanford, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at her home.  Born Wednesday, June 17, 1931, in Liberty, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late William Edgar Lanham and Eliza Catherine Campbell. Fay was the widow of the late Ernest Neal, whom she married June 5, 1948, and who preceded her in death on June 19, 1997.  Fay previously worked in food service and was a Seamstress and Homemaker. She was a member of 1st Church of God on Logan Avenue in Stanford.  Fay enjoyed life and loved spending time with her family.  She was known as “Mama Neal” to all who loved her. She enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, and crafts.  Fay was also an amazing cook who loved to joke and laugh.

Fay leaves behind one son, Douglas Neal of Highland; two daughters, Diane Pope and Sharlene Moore (Gary) both of Stanford; great-granddaughter Felecia Wilcher (Randy) of Stanford whom she raised; one brother, Eugene Lanham of Tennessee; two sisters, Nancy Cooper of Ohio, and Sheila Lancaster of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; 6 grandchildren, Angela Brown, Adam Neal, Steve Gerkey, Kenneth Gerkey, Amber Conkwright, and David Neal; 16 great-grandchildren, Ashley, Casey, Leann, Gary, Emily, Katie, Zane, Kayla, Samantha, Stephanie, Ashlynn, Jackson, Jase, Amara, and Scarlett; 20 great-great-grandchildren, Sydney, Tara, McKinley, Kimber, Lilli, Kinzlee, Braydon S., Pyper, Maddie, Aurora, Dani, Jaydon, Braydon K., Madison, Laiklyn, Hadassah, Liam, Kayson, Emilia, and Emerson; 5 great-great-great-grandchildren, Ivory, Journee, Elsie, Edan, and Elanore.

In addition to her parents and husband, Fay was preceded in death by one son, David Neal; two grandchildren, Gwineth Coleman and Lagina Kirby; three brothers, Christopher Lanham, William Lanham, and James Lanham; and one sister, Lily Meadows.

A Public Visitation will be held 11:00AM-2:00PM Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Fox & Friend Funeral Home.

A Public Funeral Service will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at the funeral home.  Bro. Paul “Bud” Bastin will officiate the service.  The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Fay’s memorial page on the funeral home’s website.

Burial will follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers are Randy Wilcher, Jeremy Conkwright, Kenneth Gerkey, Johnny Denney, Casey Smith, David Neal, Hank Denney, and Adam Neal.
