Sue Hagan (Blankenship) Young

Sue Hagan Blankenship Young, age 78, of Brookville, Ohio, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 24, 2023, at her home.  Born Monday, January 22, 1945, in Stanford, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Russell H. & Edith F. Brown Blankenship.  Sue was the widow of the late Donald A. Young, whom she married Saturday, June 1, 1963, and preceded her in death Sunday, January 15, 2023.  Sue was a school bus driver, for many years, and loved attending garage sales. 

Sue leaves behind two daughters, Lisa Martin (Bryan) of Brookville, Ohio, and Laura Helbig (Don) of Fairfield, Ohio; six grandchildren, BJ Martin (Laura) of Englewood, Ohio, Molly Martin (Adam Diaz) of Englewood, Ohio, Maria Engel (Jon) of Fairfield, Ohio, PFC Tommy Martin of Brookville, Ohio, Nikki Shim (Yeongdae) of Brookville, Ohio, and Ashley Martin of Cincinnati, Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Teddy Martin and Lily Martin both of Englewood, Ohio; two sisters, Betty Schuler and Doris Cartee both of Waynesburg, Kentucky; and several other extended family members and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her husband and parents, Sue was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Smith and Kay Peppard. 

Private services and burial will take place in Highland United Methodist Church Cemetery in Waynesburg, Kentucky.  Sue’s grandchildren will serve as Active Pallbearers.
