Sue Ann Coomer Estes, age 78, widow of the late Ronald L. Estes, passed away peacefully at her home in Lexington, Kentucky, on Thursday, January 30, 2020, surrounded by her children, family, and friends.
Sue was born in Somerset, Kentucky on August 3, 1941, to the late Helen Garland Gibson and the late Lester Coomer. She graduated in 1961 at Ferguson High School. After high school, she married the love of her life, Ron, and moved to Lexington, where she resided for 59 years.
She enjoyed so much being a homemaker. Her favorite passions were making homemade candies and decorating her home in treasures she would find at antique stores. Sue was an avid bowler. She belonged to a league at Southland Lanes for over 15 years. She was very proud of her numerous bowling trophies.
Her greatest love was for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her favorite place to travel was to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, which included making her special goodies for everyone to enjoy.
Sue is survived by her three children, Teresa Estes Hardy (Kenny), Dennis Estes, and Tammy Estes Chaney (Joe); four grandchildren, Brandon Saylor, Ciara Hardy, Candace Rogers, and Chynna Thompson; two great-grandchildren, Laycie and Sadie Rogers; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She also leaves behind a special aunt, whom she loved like a sister, Christine Welch; a life-long friend, Connie Williamson; and her best friend and sidekick, for 50 years, Brenda Flanagan.
A Funeral Service will be held 2:00PM Sunday, February 2, 2020 at Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home with Bro. Paul George officiating the service. Burial will follow in Eubank Cemetery.
