Shirley Eugene Williams

Shirley Eugene Williams, age 87, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Cumberland Nursing & Rehab in Somerset, Kentucky.  Born Thursday, November 4, 1937, in Waynesburg, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Claude Ollow & Hattie Mae Siler Williams.  Shirley was the widower of the late Verta Mae Eldridge Williams, whom he married Saturday, January 26, 1963, and preceded him in death Saturday, October 7, 2023.  Shirley was a US Army Veteran, and actively served his country September 1959-August 1962.  Shirley worked for many years at McKechnie Vehicle Components.  Shirley was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, loved old cars, loved to read, and loved to watch Westerns.

Shirley leaves behind one daughter, Connie Nevels (James) of Lincoln County, Kentucky; one sister, Lucy Brock of Waynesburg; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his wife and parents, Shirley was preceded in death by four brothers, Earl Hartford Williams, David Cornelius Williams, Glen Franklin Williams, and William Donald Williams.

A Public Visitation will be held 11AM-1PM Friday, December 20, 2024, at Fox & Friend Funeral Home. 

A Public Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Friday, at the funeral home.  Bro. Stephen VanHook will officiate the service.

A Public Graveside Service, with Full Military Honors, will take place 2:30PM Friday, at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.  Burial will follow the Graveside Service.  Members of the Caswell-Saufley Post #18 of the American Legion will serve as Active Pallbearers.
