Shirley Ann (Frederick) Young

Shirley Ann (Frederick) Young, age 76, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away Friday, July 4, 2025, at her home.  Born Tuesday, July 6, 1948, in Lincoln County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Mary Margaret (Frederick) Wilkins.  Shirley was the widow of the late Bobby Dean Young, whom she married Sunday, August 29, 1971, and preceded her in death Tuesday, June 7, 2022.  Shirley was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family.  Shirley loved to collect purses and jewelry, enjoyed thrifting, and enjoyed traveling and reading. 

Shirley leaves behind one son, Robert Christopher Young (Tonya) of Stanford; two daughters, Mary Catherine Edwards of Stanford, and Candy Lynn Young (Nathan Leese) of Pensacola, Florida; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gene Wilkins of Hustonville, Kentucky, and Marvin Wilkins of Arizona; one sister, Freda Martinez of Pensacola; and several other extended family members and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her husband and mother, Shirley was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Linda Marie Young.

A Public Visitation will be held 11AM-1PM Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Fox & Friend Funeral Home.

A Public Funeral Service will be held 1PM Wednesday, at the funeral home.  The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Shirley’s memorial page of the funeral home’s website.

Following the Funeral Service, Cremation Rites will be honored.  Burial will take place, at a later date, in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
