Sandra Sylvia Arie Obituary

Sandra Sylvia Arie, age 75 of Creve Coeur, Illinois, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 21, 2025, in Stanford Ky.  Born in Decatur, Alabama, Tuesday, June 14, 1949, to the late E.D. and Audrey Jenkins Terry.  Sandra was the wife of Arthur James Arie who she married on September 1, 1978. Sandra loved to travel and was considered a “Gypsy Soul”.  She loved to go thrift shopping and crafting.  Sandra was a great listener and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  She would go wherever she was needed to help all of those she loved.  Sandra was a best friend to her daughter Ann.

Sandra leaves behind to mourn her passing her husband Arthur James Arie of Peoria Illinois; daughter, Ann Gordon of Stanford, Kentucky; a son Stan Janik. Of Poquoson, Virginia: 2 step-daughters, Shelly McLaughlin and Sherri Smith, of Illinois: 6 six grandchildren, Amanda Patterson of Waynesburg, Kentucky, Brittany Morris, Krista Janik, Perry Janik, Melanie Janik all of Virginia, and Shaylan Wind of Illinois; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister Denise MacColeman of Dothan, Alabama and her best friend for 64 years, Bobette McCall of Hammond, Indiana.  Together they were two of the “Golden Girls”.

In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by son, Thomas Janik and sister Brenda Munn.

Cremation rites have been honored.  A Celebration of Life will be held on March15, 2025 in Peoria, Illinois..
