Sandra Lee (Amon) Austin

Sandra Lee (Amon) Austin, age 81, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Maplewood Health & Rehabilitation in Lancaster, Kentucky.  Born Monday, January 8, 1945, in the Buckeye community of Garrard County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee & Rosella (Chadwell) Amon.  Sandra was the widow of the late Emmanuel Jason Austin, Jr., whom she married Friday, January 20, 1967, and preceded her in death Saturday, August 11, 2007.  Sandra worked, for over 25 years, as a Medical Transcriptionist at Fort Logan Hospital and was a licensed Real Estate Agent for Danny Ayres Realty & Auction.  Sandra was a member of New Salem Baptist Church and most recently attended Grace Fellowship Church.  Sandra was very active in her community, where she was a member of the Stanford Lions Club, Red Hat Society, Fort Logan Hospital Auxiliary, volunteer for the Senior Citizens Center, and assisted with the local food bank.  Sandra was also a Kentucky Colonel and loved to travel and tend to her flower gardens. 

Sandra leaves behind one daughter, Kellie Black (Randy) of Colleyville, Texas; one son, Aaron Austin (Crystal) of Stanford; seven grandchildren, Danielle Brookshire (Bruce Tim II), Alexa Black, William Chadwell Austin, Chelsea Austin, Michael Chase Austin, Jeffery Wilson (Samantha), and Landon Wilson; seven great-grandchildren, Bruce Tim Brookshire III, Sophia Wilson, Kainoa Roberts, Eleah Roberts, Adrianna Lewis, Amelia Wilson, and Avery Wilson; one brother, Curt Amon (JoAnne) of Kirksville, Kentucky; and numerous other extended family members and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her husband and parents, Sandra was preceded in death by one brother, Johnny Amon.

A Public Visitation will be held 11AM-1PM Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at New Salem Baptist Church. 

A Public Funeral Service will be held 1PM Wednesday, at the church.  Bro. Jarib Burnett will officiate the service.  The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Sandra’s memorial page of the funeral home’s website.

Burial will follow in New Salem Cemetery.  Steve Austin, William Chadwell Austin, Michael Chase Austin, Bruce Tim Brookshire II, Trevor Austin and Kurt Laufenberger will serve as Active Pallbearers. Kent Ellis and Mike Bastin will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
