Ruth Baugh Johnson

Ruth Baugh Johnson, age 90, of Stanford, Kentucky, formerly of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 30, 2025, in Lexington, Kentucky.  Born Wednesday, June 20, 1934, in Lincoln County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Roy & Mattie Guy Baugh.  Ruth was the widow of the late Eugene Johnson, whom she married Saturday, April 21, 1956, and preceded her in death Wednesday, October 11, 2006.  Ruth was a homemaker and member of Floyd Switch Baptist Church.  Ruth loved taking care of and spoiling her grandchildren, enjoyed traveling to North Carolina to visit her grandchildren, enjoyed cooking, and enjoyed going out to eat with her sister, Shirley.

Ruth leaves behind one daughter, Debbie Dunn (Randy) of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky; one son, Doug Johnson of Waynesburg, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Heather Vance (Dax) of Greenville, North Carolina, and Tyler Johnson of Lexington, Kentucky; four great-grandchildren, Dakotah Spears, Kael Vance, Gaige Vance, and Lorianna Johnson; one sister, Shirley Wall of Stanford; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her husband and parents, Ruth was preceded in death by one infant son, Timothy Johnson; one granddaughter, Ashley Johnson; two brothers, Claude Baugh and Lloyd Baugh; and three sisters, Juanita Stephens, Eula Graham, Pauline Walls, and Wilma Horton. 

A Public Visitation will be held 11AM-1PM Monday, February 3, 2025, at Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home. 

A Public Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Monday, at the funeral home.  Bro. Jeff Griffin will officiate the service.  The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Ruth’s memorial page of the funeral home’s website. 

Burial will follow in Pilot Cemetery.  Tyler Johnson, Kael Vance, Gaige Vance, Kendall Johnson, Barry Walls, Scott Ducker, Dakota Spears, and Dexter Wall will serve as Active Pallbearers.  Mildred Mullins, Karen Denney, Joyce Rutherford, Joan Taylor, and Alma Bruner will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
