Ruth Anne Barnes

Ruth Anne Barnes, 87, of Danville passed away at her home on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. She was born in Norwood, Ohio on October 29, 1938 to the late Bertram Brooks and Mary Elizabeth Wilson Brooks. She is survived by her loving husband, Charles Barnes, whom she married on October, 6, 1956.

Ruth was a member of Redemption Road Church in Junction City. She loved knitting and had grown to enjoy watching golf with her husband, Charles. She was a wonderful homemaker who cherished family get-togethers and spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Ruth is also survived by three sons, Steve Barnes of Lynchburg, Ohio, Terry Barnes (Kim) of Westchester, Ohio and Kenny Barnes of Hamilton, Ohio; two sisters, Francis Brooks (Robert) of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Mary Lou Brooks (Skip) of Batavia, Ohio; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great- grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by a son, Scott Barnes; a brother, Burton Brooks Jr.; and a sister, Sarah Brooks.

Ruth’s wishes for cremation will be honored. A memorial service will be planned at Redemption Road Church at a later date.
