Ronald Isaac Greer, age 70, of Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed away Monday, October 19, 2020 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born Monday, January 2, 1950 in Waynesburg, he was the son of the late Charles Evans and Lena Elizabeth Ervin Greer. Ronald was a US Army Veteran and was a member of Pleasant Point Baptist Church. He had a love for visiting friends, playing rummy with family, and listening to the radio, especially, Lincoln Sports and the General Store. Ronald was an avid Kentucky basketball and football fan and enjoyed farming. He loved his family deeply and always wanted the best for his children and grandchildren.
Ronald leaves behind his loving wife, whom he married May 22, 1970, Joan Haggard Greer of Waynesburg; one son, Greg Greer (Becky) of Waynesburg; one daughter, Missy Slone (Justin Fryman) of Stanford, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Brittany Greer, Maddy Slone and Gavin Fryman; one brother, Richard Greer of Waynesburg; two sisters, Anna Doss (Jim) of Waynesburg and Bettie Bass (Charles) of Georgia; a special “fur baby,” Doodle; and several nieces, nephews and friends who mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Greer; and two sisters, Christine Ollish and Loretta Greer.
A Public Visitation will be held 5-8PM Thursday, October 22, 2020 at the Funeral Home.
A Public Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Friday, October 23, 2020 at the funeral home. Bro Vola Brown and Bro. Tom Graef will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery. Thomas Naylor, Andrew Works, Jerry Works, Keith Lemons, Clay Hubble and William Tucker will serve as Active Pallbearers. Brittany Greer, Maddy Slone and Gavin Fryman will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
