Raleigh Felix Stonecypher, age 92, of Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2020 at his residence. Born Sunday, February 19, 1928 in the Pond Ridge Community of Lincoln County, he was the son to the late Orbra and Ollie Greer Stonecypher. His loving wife, whom he married Friday, July 2, 1948, is Sybil Horton Stonecypher of Waynesburg. Raleigh attended Fairview Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon and a Sunday School Teacher. He enjoyed camping with his family. Raleigh loved to study the Bible and attending church.
In addition to his wife, Raleigh leaves behind one son, Pat Stonecypher (Patty) of Columbia, Kentucky; two daughters Theresa Hayden (Marshall) of Waynesburg and Teawanna Upton of Somerset, Kentucky; 5 grandchildren, Chad Robertson (Joy), Shaun Robertson (Kelly), Shane Stonecypher (Michele), Eric Stonecypher (Kim) and Tristan Upton; 9 great grandchildren, Trevor Stonecypher, Michaela Stonecypher, Tanner Stonecypher, Wyatt Stonecypher, Audie Stonecypher, Garrett Robertson, Keagan Robertson, Gabby Robertson and Carson Robertson; and two sisters, Thelma Foley of Waynesburg, and Ruth Russell (Gene) of Liberty, Kentucky.
In addition to his parents, Raleigh was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Ballard.
A Funeral Service will be held 3:00PM Sunday, February 23, 2020 at Fairview Baptist Church with Bro. David Conrades and Bro. Johnny Baker officiating the service. Trevor Stonecypher, Shane Stonecypher, Eric Stonecypher, Wyatt Stonecypher, Tanner Stonecypher, Chad Robertson, Shaun Robertson, Tristan Upton, Garrett Robertson and Keagan Robertson will serve as Active Pallbearers. Marshall Hayden will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer. Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery.
The Visitations will be 5-8PM Saturday, February 22, 2020 and 1-3PM Sunday, February 23, 2020 at the church.
