Patsy Speaks Walter, age 85, of Harrodsburg, Kentucky, passed away Friday, December 9, 2022, in Louisville, Kentucky. Born Monday, May 10, 1937, in Danville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Hamilton & Ada Green Speaks. Patsy was the widow of the late Rev. Lewis M. Walter, who preceded her in death Friday, September 9, 2022, and whom she was honored to be the wife of for over 60 years. Patsy was a graduate of the Old Lancaster High School in Lancaster, Kentucky, and Clear Creek Baptist Bible College in Pineville, Kentucky. She was the former co-owner of Walter’s Grocery & Bus Station in Stanford.
Patsy enjoyed gardening, canning, and loved raising flowers. She enjoyed teaching young children’s and women’s Sunday School classes for many years. Patsy never met a stranger and truly enjoyed conversing with everyone she met along life’s road. She loved fishing for both fish and men. Most of all, Patsy loved all the adventures she and Lewis, the love of her life, shared together in their portion of life’s journey.
Patsy leaves behind two sisters, Jo Ann Williams (Joe) of Louisville, and Linda May of Gilbert, West Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Patsy was preceded in death by one brother, Carl V. Speaks; and one sister, Georgia Speaks Shell.
A Public Visitation will be held 4-6PM Sunday, December 11, 2022, at Fox & Friend Funeral Home.
A Public Funeral Service will be held 11:00AM Monday, December 12, 2022, at Fox & Friend Funeral Home. Bro. Johnny Thompson will officiate the service. The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Patsy’s memorial page of the funeral home’s website.
Burial will follow, at 12:30PM Monday, at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Daniel Renner, Shane Smith, Scott Young, Jim Bastin, Corey Hager, and Johnny Friend will serve as Active Pallbearers. Jimmy Caudill, David Watts, Ernie Yaste, Bob Jeffries, Danny Renner, and John Stevens, Jr. will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
