Opal Mae Greer Sebastian

Opal Mae Greer Sebastian,86 of Stanford, born on Wednesday, May 18,1938, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025, at the home of her granddaughter in Lancaster.

She was the daughter of the late Winston and Selestia Rowland Greer and the widow of the late L.D. Sebastian, who preceded her in death on December 30, 1993. Opal was a member of Green River Pentecostal Church, she retired from Cowdens Manufacturing and Stanford Walmart.  Opal enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, working in her yard, cooking and having her family around her.

She is survived by her children, Billy Joe (Janice) Yocum of Lancaster, Judy (Daniel) Harris of Stanford, Geraldine Gifford of McKinney and Diane Yocum Raiza of Lancaster; grandchildren, Billie Dawn Yocum Harrison, Felicia Harris Ray, Robert Gifford, and Brittany Raiza Foster; 11 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Amos, Darrell and Merle Greer; sisters, Elsie Holton and Hazel Falconbury; 2 sons-in-law Bobby Gifford and R.O. Raiza.

A public visitation will be on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Green River Pentecostal Church from 5:00-8:00 pm.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 1:00 pm with Bro. Rick Naylor officiating the service. 

Burial will follow at Lancaster Cemetery. Robert Gifford, Kaine Rosenbum. Carson Lyman, Jake Foster, Lindsay Yocum and Russel Brown will serve as Pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Harris, granddaughters and great grandchildren.
