Nancy Beverly Cowden Hooten, 81, of Lexington, KY, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024. 

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Hooten; her parents, H.C. Cowden Jr. and Georgia Irene Cowden; her son, Douglas R. Atwood; and her brother, Anthony C. Cowden.

She is survived by her son, Darren R. Atwood (Alisha); her sister, Charlotte Curtis; her grandchildren: Ashley Atwood, Michael Atwood, Dalton R. Atwood, Haley K. Atwood, and Eden Atwood; nephews: Anthony S. Cowden, Charles W. Cowden, and Gregory A. Parsons; nieces: Katherine D. Owens and Elizabeth Denise Brooke Dunn; and great-nephews: Liam A. Cowden, Asher S. Cowden, and Andrew Jacob Montague Parsons.

Nancy and Calvin were dedicated members of the Piqua Shawnee Tribe and found joy in nature and spending time with family and friends. Her warmth and wisdom will be dearly missed.
