Mildred Frances Stamper Whitaker, 78 years, four months and eleven days, of Shepherdsville, KY passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022. Born on June 9, 1944 in Whitesburg, KY to the late Marion P. & Alta Frances Caudill Stamper. Mildred was a member of the Lone Valley Old Regular Baptist Church until its desolation, taking her membership to Crab Orchard Old Regular Baptist Church. Mom devoted her life, with her husband Haston, to serving the Lord Jesus Christ and spread his word throughout the land. Mildred retired from the state of Kentucky, where she worked for almost 20 years in Social Services.
Survivors include one son, Michael Dwayne Whitaker, Sr. (Marcia) of Taylorsville, KY; one daughter, Alice Annette Whitaker Pollard of Shepherdsville, KY; one sister, Repha Christine Back (Paul) of Indianapolis, IN; two brothers, Danis Leon Stamper (Mary Lou) of Corbin, KY, and Gurnis Wayne Stamper of Keystone Heights, FL; five grandchildren, Michael Dwayne Whitaker, Jr. (Jamie), Amy Lynn Moore, Jesse Paul Whitaker (Dharma), Josephine Paige Pollard (Joseph Walden) and Ricky Andrew Pollard, Jr. (Ki); six great-grandchildren, Hunter, Waylon, Molly, Beau, Persephone, and Oliver; and eighteen nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Haston Whitaker; her parents Marion P. & Alta Frances Caudill Stamper; and one great-grandson, Wyatt Parsley.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Fox & Friend Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. Following the visitation, there will be church service beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. with Elder Ralph Cloud, Elder Raymond Cloud, and Elder Kevin Blevins officiating. Burial will follow at Double Springs Cemetery in Waynesburg, KY. Michael Dwayne Whitaker, Sr., Michael Dwayne Whitaker, Jr., Jesse Paul Whitaker, Ricky Andrew Pollard, Jr., Joseph Walden, Richard Wayne Stamper, James Gurnis Stamper, and Christopher Leslie Stamper will serve as Active Pallbearers. Craig Back and Brian Lee Stamper will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
