Mary Helen Hannah Singleton, age 94, of Kings Mountain, Kentucky, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 1, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones, in Somerset, Kentucky. Born Saturday, August 23, 1930, in the Walltown community of Casey County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Roy & Virgie Taylor Hannah. Mary Helen was the widow of the late Revelle Singleton, whom she married Saturday, May 15, 1948, and preceded her in death Sunday, December 3, 2006. Mary Helen was a homemaker and dedicated member of Kings Mountain Christian Church. She had a deep concern about the spiritual welfare of her community and actively shared the gospel any chance she received. Mary Helen raised registered Black Angus cattle for many years and volunteered for the Waynesburg Area Rescue Squad. She enjoyed gardening and flowers and previously taught clogging. Mary Helen will be remembered for her forgiving spirit and a person who saw good in everyone.
Mary Helen leaves behind one son, Eddie Singleton (Tracy) of Waynesburg, Kentucky; two daughters, Patty Stonecypher (Pat) and Sandra Kay Price (Chris) both of Columbia, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Patrick Shane Stonecypher (Michele) Eric Duane Stonecypher (Kim), Leslie Michelle Singleton (Benjamin), Gabriel Emil Singleton, and Lucy Marie Singleton; 8 great-grandchildren; and several other extended family members and friends who mourn her passing.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mary Helen was preceded in death by one son, Larry Revelle Singleton; one grandson, Samuel Forrest Singleton; five siblings, Lucy McMullen, Ottis Hannah, Charlotte McQueen, Bill Hannah, and Clyde Hannah; and three infant siblings.
A Public Visitation will be held 6-8PM EST Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home.
A Public Funeral Service will be held 11:00AM EST Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the funeral home. Bro. David Gambrel will officiate the service. The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Mary Helen’s memorial page of the funeral home’s website.
Burial will follow in Dunham Cemetery. Mary Helen’s grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as Active Pallbearers. Mary Helen’s granddaughters and great-granddaughters will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
