Martha Louise (Naylor) Brown, age 96, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 16, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Born Thursday, March 7, 1929, in Middletown, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Wesley & Viola (Curtis) Naylor. Martha was the widow of the late Ernest H. Brown, whom she married Thursday, March 25, 1948, and preceded her in death Tuesday, July 1, 2003. Martha worked as a seamstress, for various factories and dry-cleaning companies in Kentucky and Indiana. Martha was a devout Christian and dedicated member of Waynesburg Pentecostal Church. Martha was a previous member of the Upper Room in Indianapolis, Indiana and the Glorious Church of God in Greenwood, Indiana. She previously attended Geneva Community Church, where her parents helped in the founding of the church. Martha previously taught Sunday School for 30 years and was church treasurer. Martha also volunteered at various nursing homes. Martha loved reading her Bible, quilting, singing, fishing, cooking, riding horses, and shooting rifles. Martha will be remembered for her love of God and family.
Martha leaves behind five children, Marilyn Rose Brown Fry of Kings Mountain, Kentucky, Mary K. Brown Smith (Jerry E.) of Whiteland, Indiana, Louveta Faye Brown Warner (Gary K.) of Magnolia, Kentucky, Paula Denise Brown Pemberton (Donnie) of Stanford, and Jeffrey Willis “Baby Jeff” Brown, Sr. (Kimberly A.) of Mooresville, Indiana; son-in-law, Rusty Addair of Indianapolis; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Brown of Indianapolis; 21 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 46 great-great grandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren; and numerous other extended family members and friends who mourn her passing.
In addition to her husband and parents, Martha was preceded in death by four children, Wanda Lee Brown (infant), Jimmie Ray Brown, Earnie Waine Brown (infant), and Debra Sue Brown Addair; son-in-law, Daniel Lee Fry; one brother, Charles Wesley Naylor; and seven sisters, Myrtle Allene Moore Buis, Mabel Yocum Phillips, Mary Evelyn Brown, Naomi Hickey, Gertrude Troxtle, Fanny Eloise Davis, and Mildred “Mickie” Campbell.
A Public Visitation will be held 5-8PM Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Fox & Friend Funeral Home.
A Public Funeral Service will be held 1PM Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at the funeral home. Bro. Junior Skaggs, Bro. Carlos Burdine, and Bro. Chris Taylor will officiate the service. The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Martha’s memorial page of the funeral home’s website.
Burial will follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Martha’s grandchildren will serve as Active Pallbearers.
