Lynnville Lloyd Thompson, Sr. age 96, of Mason, Ohio, passed away Friday, February 26, 2021 at The Chesterwood Village in Ohio. Born Thursday, September 4, 1924 in Kings Mountain, Kentucky, he was the son of the late William Vergil and Dora Gertrude Godby Thompson. Lynnville was a World War II Marine Corps Veteran. He was of Baptist faith and worked as a field manager at IBM for many years. Lynnville loved to play the banjo.
Lynnville leaves behind wife, Mary Gooch Holly Thompson of Mason, Ohio; one daughter; Sherry Lynn Preston (Charles) of Ooltewah, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Kelly Suzanne Roberts and Stephen Gerald Roberts, Jr.; three great grandchildren, Mikail, Jordan and Josh; and one brother, Harold Thompson.
In addition to his parents, Lynnville was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Elizabeth Harris Thompson; one son, Lynnville Lloyd Thompson, Jr.; one daughter, Cindy Ann Roberts; and three brothers, Frebert, Gerald and Houston Thompson.
A Public Graveside Service and Burial will take place 3:00PM Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at KP Hall Cemetery with full military honors performed by the Caswell-Saufley American Legion Post #18. Bro. Kerry Jones will officiate the service.
