Loretta Spurlock Krout, age 83, of Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed away Monday, December 16, 2019 at her daughter’s home in Stanford, Kentucky. Born Tuesday, January 28, 1936 in Hazard, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Thomas & Ida Turner Spurlock. Loretta was the widow of the late Glen Curtis Krout, who preceded her in death Friday, April 14, 1995. Loretta previously worked as a secretary at Frontier Rehabilitation and was a homemaker. She was a member of Parlor Grove Baptist Church and recently attended Fairview Baptist Church. Loretta was an officer and member of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
Loretta leaves behind one son, Steven C. Krout (Maria B.) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one daughter, Deborah Ida Jean Rowe (Walker E., Jr.) of Stanford; seven grandchildren, Kim Alexander (Mike) of Wichita, Kansas, Jimmy Gregory of Spring, Texas, Cory Krout of Spring Grove, Pennsylvania, Andrew Gregory (Christina) of Fort Worth, Texas, Jason Vaught (Mercedes) of Parksville, Kentucky, Danny Rowe (Tracy) of the Highland Community of Lincoln County, Kentucky, and Brandy Frye (Thomas) of Moreland, Kentucky; 11 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Harvey Edward Spurlock (Carolyn) of Cincinnati, Ohio, James Earl Spurlock (Sandra) of Missouri City, Texas, and Leonard Carl Spurlock of Charleston, South Carolina; five sisters, Geneva Agoston (Steve) of Surprise, Arizona, Mary Cater (Jim) of Martinez, California, Pauline Johnson (Ben) of California; Ethel Lynne Denney (Milton) of Columbus, Indiana, and Betty Stephens (Bill) of Versailles; Kentucky; one brother-in-law, Mike Brandon of Cincinnati; one sister-in-law, Joyce Ann Southern of Foley, Alabama; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends who mourn her passing.
In addition to her husband and parents, Loretta was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Spurlock and Paul Spurlock; and one sister, Rita Ramona Brandon.
A Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home with Bro. David Conrades officiating the service. Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery.
The Visitation will be held 11AM-1PM Thursday at the funeral home.
