Lloyd T. Ruckel, age 87, of Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022, in Lexington, Kentucky. Born Tuesday, February 19, 1935, he was the son to the late Henry and Ruby Spaw Ruckel. He leaves behind the love of his life, of 65 years, Donna May Ruckel, of Waynesburg, who he married Saturday, September 14, 1957. Lloyd was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a farmer and business owner. Lloyd attended Polly Ann Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, Lloyd leaves behind one son; Dewayne Ruckel (Joy) of Stanford, Kentucky; two daughters, Patricia Diana VanHook (Pete) of Waynesburg, and Darlene R. Litteral (Mark) of Science Hill, Kentucky; 11 grandchildren, Kent Burton (Ashley), Andrea Roberts (Josh), Brice Burton (Beka), Matt Ruckel (Hannah), Kayla Decker (Lindsay), Matt Litteral (Rachel), David Litteral (Shaunda), Jessica Mosley (Shawn), Mike Ralston (Andi), Jenny Maloney (Jeff), Daniel Ralston (Haylee); 18 great grandchildren; one brother, Leland Ruckel of Eubank, Kentucky; two sisters, Wilma Jean Daniels of Eubank and Betty Jane Allen (Tommy) of Center, Alabama.
Along with his parents, Lloyd was preceded in death by one infant son, Darrell Ruckel; one grandchild, Trace VanHook; four brothers, Larry Ruckel, Linville Ruckel, Leonard Ruckel, and Lewis Ruckel; and one sister, Juanita Back.
A Public Visitation will be held 6-9PM Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Barnett, Demrow, and Friend Funeral Home.
The Public Service will be held 1:00PM Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at the funeral home. Bro. Jami Hamilton and Bro. Terry Holt will officiate the service. The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Lloyd’s memorial page of the funeral home’s website.
The Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery with Bro. Jeff Finley officiating. Daniel Ralston, Daniel Rodriguez, Matt Ruckel, Matt Litteral, Kent Burton, and Brice Burton will serve as Active Pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions suggested to, Polly Ann Baptist Church.
