Liza Boggs Eldridge

Liza Eldridge, age 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at her home in Hendersonville, Tennessee, surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born at home on Bear Branch, in Letcher County, Kentucky on Saturday, March 28, 1931, to Alex Boggs and Raney Halcomb Boggs.

A longtime resident of Waynesburg, Kentucky, she worked at Cowden Manufacturing, Stanford, Kentucky, for many years and enjoyed gardening, canning, quilting, and traveling.  She was a lifetime University of Kentucky Basketball fan.  Her second family was Pleasant View Church, Waynesburg, Kentucky. 

She moved to Gallatin, Tennessee to be closer to her children and attended Grace Point Baptist Church.

She will be dearly missed and always remembered.

Liza was preceded in death by her parents, Alex & Raney Boggs; her husband Alamander Eldridge in 1998; daughter Nancy Terry in 2015; sisters: Reedi Boggs, Rose Boggs, Eddie Smith, Maggie Sparkman, Evelyn Cornett, Lemora Bethel, Sallie Boggs, Mavy Rieselman, Ida Beal, and Dorothy Hutchcraft; and brothers: Boyd, Brutus, Buster, Bill, and Bruner Boggs.

Liza is survived by two daughters, Cordelia Key (Bobby) & Annette Young (Kenny) of Gallatin, TN and two sons, Jeffery Eldridge (Danna) of South Chesterfield, Virginia and Anthony Eldridge of Hendersonville, TN; grandchildren, Dorothy Reed, Scott Young (Heather), Angie Huff (Adam), Laura Gentry, Jeffery Eldridge, and Daniel Eldridge; great-grandchildren: Mollie Key; Mitchell Key (Gigi); Caleb, Jacob, and Eli Young; Connor and Hailey Huff; Daisy, Lilly, and Hunter Gentry; and Bailey Eldridge; great-great grandchildren Grace Key and Paul Key; sister, Grace Lewis of Gordon, Kentucky, and many extended family members.

A Public Visitation will be held 12PM-2PM Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Pleasant View Baptist Church, 13571 KY Hwy 1247, Waynesburg, KY 40489.

A Public Funeral Service will be held 2:00PM Tuesday, at the church.  Bro. Kerry Jones will officiate the service.

Interment will follow at Double Springs Cemetery, Waynesburg, KY.
