Lilbern Edgar "Lib" Henderson

Lilbern Edgar “Lib” Henderson, age 83, of Stanford, Kentucky passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023, in Danville, Kentucky.  Born Monday, December 25, 1939, in Pulaski County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Edgar “Poppy” and Bessie Tarter “Mommy” Henderson. His loving spouse, whom he married on July 23, 1983, is Kathleen “Kathy” Sciberras Henderson.  Lib was the owner of Gateway Auto Sales and a hobby farmer. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.  Lib loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.  He also loved to drag race, watch races on TV, NASCAR, fish, eat good food, yard sale, and talk about his antiques.

In addition to his wife, Lib leaves behind four sons, Jeffrey Lilbern Henderson (Regina) of Stanford, David Wesley Bastin of Harriman, Tennessee, Timothy Dwayne Henderson (Angela), and Lilbern Joseph “Joey Henderson (Donna) both of Stanford; one daughter, Lisa Marie Humphrey (Byron) of Liberty; one sister, Marlene Henderson Rice Roller of Stanford; 12 grandchildren, Melissa Conner (Tony), Andrea Goatee (Chris), Ashley Burton (Troy), Matthew Henderson (Alicia), Amanda Hubble (Matt), Whitney Mesolam (Alex), Blake Henderson, (Paige Swope), Matthew Sharp (Victoria Cabral), Blaine Sharp, Olivia Sharp (Dexter Larick), Kyle Humphrey (Chelsea Carman); and 14 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Lib was preceded in death by his first wife, Verna Mae Ramsey Henderson; one great-grandchild; siblings, Delinie Henderson, Amel Henderson, Geneva Henderson Muse Sanders, Lenville Henderson, Mildred Henderson Burkett, Stella Henderson Ard, Zelma Henderson Hall, Edwin Henderson, Wendell Henderson and Elba Henderson.

A Public Visitation will be held 5-8:00PM Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Fairview Baptist Church.

A Public Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at the church.  Bro. Johnny Baker, Bro. Gary King, and Bro. David Conrades will officiate the service.  The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Lib’s memorial page of the funeral home’s website.

Burial will follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers are Matthew Sharp, Blaine Sharp, Blake Henderson, Matthew Henderson, Matt Hubble, David Bastin, Greyson Hubble, and Alex Mesalam.  Honorary Pallbearers are Jimmy Henderson and Rick Muse.
