Kernie Neal Spaw, 68, of Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed away July 14, 2022, at UK Hospital. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Lee Spaw; sister Connie Lee Addington; and brother William “Kenny” Spaw.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Carol Spaw; his mother, Bea Spaw Staton; son Jason Hughes; sisters, Karen (Danny) Allen and Kathy (Carl) Schulthies; and a brother, John Ray Staton.
Kernie served as a United States Marine from 1980 to 1984. Kernie and Carol were members of Double Springs Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee. Kernie worked for the US Postal Service for 11 years; and also worked as a mason where he laid brick and did concrete work. They would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on August 16th this year. Kernie loved to ride motorcycles.
A Funeral Service will be held 2:00PM, Monday, July 18, 2022, at Double Springs Baptist Church. Bro. Jerry Martin, Bro. Ron Shepherd, and Bro. Jami Hamilton will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Pilot Cemetery. The Baptist Bikers of Kentucky & Rocky Singleton will serve as Active Pallbearers. The Trustees of Double Springs Baptist Church will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

A Public Visitation will be held 6-8PM Sunday, July 17, 2022, and 11AM-2PM Monday, at the church.
