Ken Sterns Obituary

Ken Sterns, age 73, of Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.  Born Friday, August 24, 1951, in Stanford, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Mary Saylor Sizemore.  Ken was the widower of the late Shirley Rice Sterns, whom he married Saturday, January 29, 1972, and preceded him in death Thursday, September 17, 2009.  Ken retired from North American Phillips Lighting in Danville, Kentucky.  Ken enjoyed yard work, playing video games, was a UK Basketball fan, and was a history buff.  He was a member of Waynesburg Church of Christ.

Ken leaves behind three children, Renee Wilson (Darren) of Eubank, Kentucky, Melissa Gosser (Brian) of Charleston, South Carolina, and Kenny Sterns (Amy) of Somerset, Kentucky; nine grandchildren, Lane Wilson of Clarksville, Tennessee, Toby Wilson of Eubank, Dawn Wilson of Eubank, Alivia Gosser of Charleston, Pierce Gosser of Charleston, Kenneth Sterns of Somerset, Kinberlyn Sterns of Somerset, Ali Sterns of Somerset, and Azlyn Sterns of Somerset; one great-granddaughter, Lily Miya Sterns of Somerset; one brother, Mike Elleman (Beverly) of Lancaster, Kentucky; a special nephew, J.D. Manier (Emily) of Stanford; and several other extended family members and friends who mourn his passing. 

In addition to his wife and parents, Ken was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Manier; and one niece, Jill Manier.

A Private Visitation and Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home.

Private Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions suggested to the Lincoln County Humane Society.
