Judy Ann Hines Shutz

Judy Ann Hines Shutz, age 78, of McKinney, Kentucky, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 25, 2024, in McKinney, at her son, Shawn, and daughter-in-law, Nina’s home.  Born Saturday, July 6, 1946, in the Argyle community of Casey County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Dock & Emaline Meeks Hines.  Judy was a homemaker and previously babysit many children.  In reference to her babysitting, she would always jokingly say that she “raised 50-11 kids that caused her more problems than Carter made liver pills”.  Judy was a member of Crab Orchard Baptist Church, enjoyed reading, and enjoyed playing Rook and other board and card games with her family and friends.  Judy took pride in remembering all of her immediate and extended family members and friends’ birthdays. 

Judy leaves behind two sons, Shawn Hines (Nina) of McKinney, and Jonathan Shutz (Lori) of Cincinnati, Ohio; five grandchildren, Autum Walls (Cameron) of Stanford, Kentucky, Seth Hines of McKinney, and Jade Shutz, Aria Shutz, and Kaiden Shutz all of Cincinnati; one great-grandson, Easton Tyler Walls of Stanford; three sisters, Shirley Moore of McKinney, Bernice Byrd of Cincinnati, and Christine Reynolds of Hamilton, Ohio; her dearest friend, Betty C. Price of Crab Orchard, Kentucky; and several nieces, nephews, and numerous other extended family members and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Anna Dawn Hines; four brothers, Ralph Hines, Forrest Hines, J.B. Hines, and Joesph Hines (infant); and two sisters, Betty Pittman and Charlene Chansler. 

A Public Visitation will be held 11AM-1PM Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Valley Oak Baptist Church, 217 Oak Hill Road, Liberty, KY 42539. 

A Public Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Saturday, at the church.  Bro. T.J. Godby and Bro. Isaiah Super will officiate the service.  The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Judy’s memorial page of the funeral home’s website. 

Burial will follow in Valley Oak Cemetery.  Cody Weston, Nathan Moore, Wes Mast, Danny Byrd, Dale Hines, Kris Benge, Nick Holt, and Boo Holt will serve as Active Pallbearers.  Betty C. Price, Reagan Godby, Naomi Mast, Mabel Releford, Vanessa Hines, and Kaitlin Simmerman will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
