Joey Padgett, Sr.

Joey Padgett, Sr., age 61, of Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023, at his residence. Born Saturday, June 10, 1961, in Stanford, Kentucky,he was the son of he late Hurshel and Ova Sims Padgett. His loving wife, whom he married Thursday, August 21, 1980, is Gidget Roland Padgett. Joey attended Miracle Temple Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and watching old westerns. Joey loved spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Joey leaves behind two daughters, Olive Marie Padgett (Ginger) of Waynesburg, and Catherine Padgett (Robert Rayburn) of Kings Mountain, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Conner Ping, Colby Padgett, Lillian Jenkins and Grayson Rayburn; one brother, Rodney Padgett (Arlene) of Waynesburg; four sisters, Darlene Padgett, Connie Padgett, Kathy Padgett, Marilyn Padgett all of Waynesburg.

Along with his parents, Joey was preceded in death by one son, Joey Padgett, Jr.; one brother, Hurshel Padgett, Jr.; and two sisters, Peggy Rogers, and Wilma Rice.

A Public Visitation will be held 6-9PM Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Miracle Temple Church.

The Public Funeral Service will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at the church. Kerry Jones will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery. Conner Ping, Colby Padgett, Robert Rayburn, James Padgett, Brent Meek, and Bill Jenkins will serve as Active Pallbearers. Grayson Rayburn and Jonathan Rice will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
