Jeffrey S. VonGruenigen, age 63, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2025. Born Saturday, March 3, 1962, in Danville, Kentucky, he was the son of Nellie Hazlett VonGruenigen of Stanford and the late Warren VonGruenigen. Jeffrey was a Lincoln County High School graduate and worked for Phillips Lighting for 25 years and retired from Sylvania. Jeffrey was a member of Blue Lick Baptist Church and most recently attended Stanford Church of the Nazarene. Jeffrey enjoyed woodworking, knife making, and was a “jack of all trades”.
In addition to his mother, Jeffrey leaves behind one son, Matthew VonGruenigen (SaraVard) of Lancaster, Kentucky; one daughter, Kelly VonGruenigen of Richmond, Kentucky; one grandson, Ken Tuck VonGruenigen of Lancaster; fiancé, Paula Rayborn of Stanford; one brother, Warren “Budgie” VonGruenigen (Tonie) of Stanford; two sisters, Karen Lynn VonGruenigen of Stanford, and Andrea Bridgett VonGruenigen of Junction City, Kentucky; and several nieces, nephews and numerous other extended family members and friends who mourn his passing.
In addition to his father, Jeffrey was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Joe & Georgia Ann Phillps Hazlett; and paternal grandparents, Werner & Florence Harney VonGruenigen.
A Private Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Fox & Friend Funeral Home.
Private Burial will follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Matthew Pittman, Anthony Pittman, Roy Parker, Don Houp, Christopher Hazlett, and Jerry Siler will serve as Active Pallbearers. Budgie, VonGruenigen, Monty Cook, Micah Coleman, and Cody VonGruenigen will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
