Iva Lee (Shields) Bowen

Iva Lee Bowen, age 100, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford, Kentucky. Born Tuesday, October 14, 1919 in Paris, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Albert Fleming Shields & Nancy Catherine Bustle. She was the widow of the late Edward Cornelius Bowen whom she married October 19, 1940. She attended New Beginnings Methodist Church and was previously very active at Lakeside Christian Church in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky for many years.  Iva was a member of the Fort Logan Hospital Auxiliary and was involved with Covington Art Club.  Iva enjoyed playing golf, and playing bridge and rook.  Her main love was for her Family.

Iva leaves behind one daughter, Jacqueline Marie Pence (Alfred) of Stanford, Kentucky; 2 grandchildren, Bryan Edward Pence (Heidi), of Stanford and Rebecca Lee Cushenberry (Joe) of Franklin, Kentucky; 5 great-grandchildren, Daniel Pence, Andrew Pence, Casey Cushenberry, Eli Cushenberry, and Jack Cushenberry, a Sister-In-A Law, Lena Shields and many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Iva was preceded in death by brothers, Virgil Shields, Albert Shields Jr., Paul “Brownie” Shields, Elmer Robert Shields, Beckham Shields, John Shields, Raymond Shields, Floyd Shields, Emery Clay Shields, James Shields; Sisters, Ada Burns, Dora Jones, Aline Stephens, and Dorothy Williamson

The Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Big Bone Baptist Church in Union, Kentucky.  Rev. Ken Armstrong will officiate the service. Daniel Pence, Andrew Pence, Joe Cushenberry, Casey Cushenberry, Eli Cushenberry and Jack Cushenberry , will serve as Pallbearers. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Erlanger, Kentucky.

A visitation will be held 10:00 AM until service time at the Church.
