Howard David Deboard, age 80, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Stanford Crossing. Born Sunday, September 30, 1945, in the Copper Creek community of Rockcastle County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Ernest Elzie & Margaret Ann Plummer Deboard. Howard was a U.S. Army Veteran, who actively served November 9, 1965-November 8, 1967, and earned the ranks of SP4. Howard worked as a meat inspector with the federal government. Howard was a member of Danville Church of God and attended Crab Orchard Church of God. Howard loved attending church and enjoyed woodcarving in his spare time.
Howard leaves behind one son, Howard David Deboard of Stanford; two daughters, Rebecca Elizabeth “Betsi” Bowen (Curtis) of Stanford, and Deborah Denise Kidd (Todd) of Campbellsville, Kentucky; five grandchildren; three sisters, Charlene Gibbons of the Hubble community in Garrard County, Kentucky, Mary Frances VanHook of Stanford, and Brenda Joyce Joseph of Stanford; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends who mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by one infant brother, Cecil Milton Deboard.
A Public Visitation will be held 9:30AM-11:30AM Monday, February 9, 2026, at Fox & Friend Funeral Home.
A Public Funeral Service will be held 11:30AM Monday, at the funeral home. Bro. Steven VanHook and Bro. Bryan Montgomery will officiate the service.
A Public Graveside Service, with Full Military Honors, will be held 1:30PM Monday, at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Burial will follow the Graveside Service.
