Hester Hardwick, age 92, of Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed away peacefully Monday, November 24, 2025, in Danville, Kentucky. Born Monday, March 13, 1933, in Pulaski County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late James Ronder & Maggie Mae (Green) Hoseclaw. Hester was the widow of the late Ollis W. “Big O” Hardwick, whom she married Saturday, January 16, 1960, and preceded her in death Monday, October 14, 2013. Hester previously worked as a bank teller. Hester was a faithful member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. Hester loved her church dearly and enjoyed going to worship with other believers as often as she could. In her spare time, Hester enjoyed reading, working puzzles, making pies and sharing them with others.
Hester leaves behind one daughter, Lisa Young of Stanford, Kentucky; one granddaughter, Brittnee Angle (Matt) of Nicholasville, Kentucky; one newborn great-grandson, Bennett Zane Angle; one sister, Mary Mason of Nicholasville; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends who mourn her passing.
In addition to her husband and parents, Hester was preceded in death by one grandson, Zane Young; two brothers, Ellis Hoseclaw, Orville Hoseclaw; and four sisters, Frances Coe, Adeline Derryberry, Lue Veda Padgett, and an infant sister.
A Public Visitation will be held 11AM-2PM Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Pleasant View Baptist Church.
A Public Funeral Service will be held 2PM Saturday, at the church. Bro. Vola Brown will officiate the service. The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Hester’s memorial page of the funeral home’s website.
Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery. David Hardwick, Gary Padgett, Shannon Reynolds, Mark Hardwick, Mike Hardwick, Kelly Mason, and Thomas Rector will serve as Active Pallbearers. John Liles, Jerry Liles, Willie Rice, Tim Rice, Tony Rice, Jack Rice, Bill Rice, Charlie Rice, Jay Hoseclaw, and Michael Hoseclaw will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
