Hershel Carpenter

Hershel Carpenter, born Monday, January 8, 1945 in the Green River Community in Lincoln County, Kentucky to the late Edward Otis Carpenter and Rebecca Virginia Moore Carpenter, departed this life on Thursday, May 28, 2020, being the age of 75 years old. Hershel was a faithful member of Green River Pentecostal Church, where he served as a cameraman and helped prepare the communion each time it was served.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Garland Carpenter and his late wife Louise; a sister, Mary Jo Brown; and two infant siblings, brother, Donald Venus and sister, Patricia Gail.

Hershel left behind his wife, Alice Brown Carpenter, of 47 years and 11 months. His sons, Hershel Scott Carpenter (Tammie), Brian Keith Carpenter and wife, Heather of London, Kentucky, Michael Paul Carpenter and wife, Michelle of Danville, Kentucky, Steven Lee Carpenter (Melanie) of Danville; nine grandchildren, Brittny Scott Carpenter, (Billy) Kristen and Craigory Coppola, Brianna Carpenter, Isaiah Carpenter and Alisha, Zebadiah Carpenter, Colin Carpenter, Logan Carpenter, Chloe Carpenter, Bailee Carpenter (Gracie, Rylee), (Bella, Caleb and Kadin). Special God family, Todd, Katrina and Zachary Salyers; one brother, Rev. Lester Carpenter and wife Linda of London; three sisters, Wanda Lawson and husband, the late Kenneth of Pierce Township, Ohio, Kay Houge and husband Rev. Thomas of Willisburg, Kentucky, Linda Lewis and husband David of Hustonville, Kentucky; brother in law, Billy Brown and late wife Mary Jo of Hustonville.

The Funeral Service will be live streamed on Green River Pentecostal’s Facebook page, and broadcasted live on 102.9 WPBK FM at 1:00PM Monday, June 1, 2020.  Bro. Rick Naylor and Bro. Glen Wilson will officiate the service.  Burial will follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers will be Scott Carpenter, Brian Carpenter, Michael Carpenter, Steven Carpenter, Isaiah Carpenter, Colin Carpenter, and Logan Carpenter.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Lester Carpenter, Popcorn Brown, Booger Brown, Ivan Brown, Todd Salyers, Zachary Salyers, Johnny Brown, Wayne Denson, Brittany Lee Faith Carpenter, and Zebadiah Carpenter.

Visitations will be held 5-9PM Sunday, May 31, 2020 and 10AM-1PM Monday at the church.  Please note that social distancing guidelines will be followed at the church during the visitation and the funeral.  Due to limited capacity seating, all family members will have priority for the funeral service.
