Hazel Marie Johnson Wilder, age 83, of Crab Orchard, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Danville Centre for Health & Rehabilitation in Danville, Kentucky. Born Thursday, October 7, 1937 in Stanford, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Luther Morris & Allie Mae Siler Johnson. Hazel was the widow of the late Vergil Ray Wilder, whom she married Sunday, October 4, 1953, and preceded her in death Thursday, December 7, 2017. Hazel was a homemaker and member of Pine Grove Church of Christ. Hazel enjoyed sewing, flower gardening, cooking, fishing, and canning.
Hazel leaves behind one son, Kenneth Ray Wilder of Crab Orchard; three daughters, Chestine Bentley and Diane Owens both of Crab Orchard, and Brenda Wilder of Danville; 8 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; one sister, Fannie Crawford of Stanford; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends who mourn her passing.
In addition to her husband and parents, Hazel was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Johnson and Morris C. Johnson; and four sisters, Margaret Hunt, Frances “Pat” Montgomery, Irene McDarment, and Gladys Mae York.
A Public Visitation will be held 11AM-1PM Thursday January 28, 2021 at Fox & Friend Funeral Home.
The Public Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Thursday at the funeral home. Bro. Rick Estes will officiate the service. The Funeral Service will be live streamed on Fox & Friend Funeral Home’s Facebook page.
The Graveside Service & Burial will take place at 2:30PM Thursday at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
Jody Blanton, Levi Wilder, Matthew Wilder, Willie Bentley, Rockey Johnson, and Kenneth Wilder will serve as Active Pallbearers.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to current COVID -19 regulations, face coverings must be worn by all in attendance for the Public Visitation, Funeral Service, and Graveside Service; and social distancing guidelines must be followed.
