Harold “Bug” Denson, age 79, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2025. Born Wednesday, April 3, 1946, in Lincoln County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Charlie & Lucy (Dowell) Denson. Harold previously worked at Stanford Tire and was a farmer. Harold was a faithful member of Pleasant View Baptist Church, for over 40 years. Harold loved attending church and greeting people at the church door. He was also active in the Lincoln County Senior Citizen Center, where he attended three days per week.
Harold leaves behind two brothers, Marvin Eugene Denson of Lancaster, Kentucky, and Ricky Denson (Glorita) of Stanford; two sisters, Loretta Edwards (Buford) of Stanford, and Janie Taylor (Jimmy) of the Highland Community of Lincoln County, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews; and all his special friends at Pleasant View Baptist Church and the Lincoln County Senior Citizens Center.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by five brothers, Jimmy Denson, Charles Joe Denson, Freddie “Poncho” Denson, Mark Denson, and Hiram Henry Ruth; and two sisters, Annie Hines and Gladys Smith.
A Public Visitation will be held 11AM-1PM Friday, December 19, 2025, at Pleasant View Baptist Church.
A Public Funeral Service will be held 1PM Friday, at the church. Bro. Vola Brown & Bro. Scott Hughes will officiate the service. The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Harold’s memorial page of the funeral home’s website.
Burial will follow in Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery. Steve Denson, Ivon Denson, Dalton Denson, Wayne Denson, Chris Taylor, Charlie Snyder, and Jim Bob Taylor will serve as Active Pallbearers. Members of Pleasant View Baptist Church and the Lincoln County Senior Citizens Center will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
