Gregory Lee Maggard, age 62, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly Monday, July 15, 2024. Born Thursday, January 11, 1962, in Stanford, he was the son of the late Ernest Maggard & the late Kathleen Gross Maggard Rice. His loving wife, whom he married Tuesday, September 23, 2014, is Marsha Smith Maggard of Stanford. Greg was a US Navy Veteran and worked as a Security Guard at Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore, Kentucky. Greg was a member of Hilltop House of Praise, former Stanford Volunteer Firefighter, and member of Cedar Creek Sportsman Club. Greg will be remembered for being a loving husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his wife, Greg leaves behind three sons, Eric Maggard (Jill) of Danville, Kentucky, Jesse Maggard (Danielle) of Danville, and Ricky Payton (Candice) of Stanford; two daughters, Nicole Lay Rose (Samuel) of Somerset, Kentucky, and Tiffany Crawley of Stanford; 17 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; one brother, Roger Dale Maggard (Irene) of Bacolod, Philippines; and several other extended family members and friends who mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, Greg was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Glenn Maggard.
A Public Visitation will be held 11AM-1PM Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Fox & Friend Funeral Home.
The Public Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Wednesday, at the funeral home. Bro. Mike Martin & Bro. David Kidd will officiate the service. The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Greg’s memorial page of the funeral home’s website.
Burial will follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Jesse Maggard, Eric Maggard, Joey Maggard, Samuel Rose, Don Hatter, and Dale Hatter will serve as Active Pallbearers. Don Miracle and Jim Peck will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
