Gertrude W. (Coffey) Stewart

Gertrude W. (Coffey) Stewart, age 86, of Brooksville, Florida, passed away Monday, April 3, 2023.  Born Thursday, December 10, 1936, in Somerset, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Guy Wendall Coffey, Sr. and Evelyn Thawe McMullen Coffey.  Gertrude was the widow of the late William Mack Stewart, who preceded her in death Wednesday, May 30, 1984.  Gertrude was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.  In her spare time, she enjoyed going to thrift stores and working crossword puzzles.

Gertrude leaves behind one daughter, Beverly Evelyn Stewart of Brooksville, Florida; two sons, Johnny Bauerle of Largo, Florida, and Rick W. Stewart of Tampa, Florida; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters, Margie Coffey of Tampa, Janet Coffey of Land O’ Lakes, Florida, and Sue Gallery (Jim) of Orlando, Florida; and several friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her husband and parents, Gertrude was preceded in death by one brother, Guy Coffey, Jr., and one sister, Mamie Kirby. 

A Public Visitation will be held 11AM-12PM Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home, 545 KY Hwy 328 West, Waynesburg, KY 40489.

A Public Funeral Service will be held 12:00PM Saturday, at the funeral home.  Bro. Kerry Jones will officiate the service.  The Funeral Service will be live streamed on her memorial page of the funeral home’s website.

Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery.
