Freda Adams Phillippe, age 92, of Kings Mountain, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2023, in Danville, Kentucky. Born Saturday, October 4, 1930, in Casey County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late William Noel & Mattie Sims Adams. Freda was the widow of the late Wilba Mack Phillippe, whom she married Tuesday, February 4, 1947, and preceded her in death Saturday, August 20, 2016. Freda retired from Oakwood in Somerset, Kentucky, and was a faithful member of Pond Baptist Church. Freda loved her family dearly and enjoyed sewing, gardening woodworking, and was a UK Basketball fan.
Freda leaves behind one daughter, Patricia Richardson of Liberty, Kentucky; two sons, David Phillippe (Susan) of Russell Springs, Kentucky, and William Ray Phillippe (Pam) of Punta Gorda, Florida; seven grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Fama Patterson of Kings Mountain, and Tootsie Gooch (Gilbert) of Waynesburg, Kentucky; and other extended family members and friends who mourn her passing.
In addition to her husband and parents, Freda was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Mike Richardson; one grandson, Michael Richardson; and five brothers, Freeman “Bud” Adams, Floyd Adams, Frank Adams, Raymond Adams, and Lloyd Adams.
Public Visitations will be held 6-8PM Saturday, March 11, 2023, and 12PM-2PM Sunday, March 12, 2023, at Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home.
The Funeral Service will be held 2:00PM Sunday, at the funeral home. The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Freda’s memorial page of the funeral home’s website. Pastor Buster Miller will officiate the service.
Burial will follow in KP Hall Cemetery. Travis Phillippe, Mikey Richardson, Joe Martindill, Ryan Phillippe, Shannon Fisher, and Cody Atchley will serve as Active Pallbearers. Freda’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
