Flora Mae (VonLinger) Barrett

Flora Mae Barrett, age 89, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed Thursday, April 24, 2025.  Born Saturday, June 29, 1935, in Lincoln County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Ed & Pina (Coontz) VonLinger.  Flora was the widow of the late Ralph Barrett.  They were married 58 years.

Flora was a member of Blue Lick Baptist Church.  She worked 22 years at Palm Beach in Danville, Kentucky.  She loved working with her flowers, enjoyed gardening, decorating her house, and family gatherings.

Survivors include two daughters, Joan Cornelius of Stanford, and Vicky Barrett of Stanford; four grandchildren, Kacy Smith (Robbie) of Garrard County, Kentucky, Stacy Godbey of Stanford, Jamie Cornelius of Stanford, and Anthony Cornelius (Melissa) of Stanford; six great-grandchildren, BreeAnn Smith (Blaine) of Lexington, Kentucky, Braiden Smith of Garrard County, Derek Jones of Stanford, Tramane Alcorn of Stanford, Kody Cornelius (Alyssia) of Stanford, and Hunter Cornelius of Stanford; three great-great grandchildren, Aria Mae Deatherage of Lexington, Tobias Jones of Stanford, and Bentley Jones of Stanford.

In addition to her husband and parents, Flora was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Martin and Florence VonLinger (infant). 

A one-day service has been scheduled for 1PM Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Fox & Friend Funeral Home. 

Visitation will be from 11AM-1PM Tuesday, followed by the Funeral Service at 1PM, with Bro. Wayne Stephens officiating.

The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Flora’s memorial page of the funeral home’s website.

Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers will be Tramane Alcorn, Derek Jones, Kody Cornelius, Hunter Cornelius, Blaine Deatherage, and Anthony Cornelius.  Honorary Pallbearer will be Braiden Smith.
